This is the gentle one: a shorter, easier paddle than the Sea Cave Tour, out on calm morning water and done before the midday heat. Keep an eye out for dolphins and, December through March, humpback whales. Sightings are never guaranteed.
Wildlife to watch for
You launch from Keauhou Bay, traditionally known as the birthplace of King Kamehameha III, and paddle the Kona coast while the water is calm and the morning is still cool.
Keep an eye out for dolphins and sea turtles (honu), and from December through March, humpback whales passing close to shore. Wildlife is wild, so sightings are never guaranteed.
Your guide adjusts the route to the ocean conditions that morning, keeps the group together and helps first-time paddlers feel comfortable from launch to landing.
